You, Me & DC Book Club: November Edition

It was a slow month for books. But also a busy month for everything else which is why this post is is so delayed (sorry!). There was also quite a theme for all the books. Clearly we’ve got a thing for thrillers with lots of twists and turns! Either way, we had a good time and we hope you had a wonderful holiday!

Don’t You Cry

Honestly, put down every other book you’ve got on your bookshelf and pick up this book. It is written by the same author as The Good Girl, which is also amazing. This book is centered around a girl whose roommate has disappeared without a trace. It is so well written and has an amazing twist at the end that you will seriously never see coming.

Dark Matter

This one was also pretty great. It’s technically a science fiction book because it has to do with quantum physics or something like that but it’s just basically like some guy trying to save his life and his marriage after he is kidnapped and wakes up in a time period that he doesn’t recognize. It’s not very science-y so don’t let that scare you away.

Final Girls

Of these three, this was probably my least favorite. However, it is still a great book. It’s again…got a lot of twists. The main premise is about these group of women who are the sole survivors of mass killings. It’s 100% fiction and focuses on three women, one of which ends up murdered in the very beginning of the book. Just like Don’t You Cry, there is a twist at the end that I seriously NEVER would have expected.

While you enter into the new year, head to the public library or a locally-owned bookstore and pick up some new, thrilling reads!
